Google搜索为gecko浏览器加速

Google开始使用 prefetching[预载]( http://www.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/ ... g_FAQ.html )技术来在后台预先载入你的TOP搜索结果，即使你还没有点击那个连接，这样当你点击连接时，网页载入大大加快。prefetching技术在Mozilla 1.2的时候就已经加入了，这次是第一次得到业界强大势力的支持。
此技术不支持IE等其他非Gecko浏览器。

Enhanced searching with Firefox
Now Google's faster than ever on Firefox and Mozilla browsers. When you do a search on these browsers, we instruct them to download your top search result in advance, so if you click on it, you'll get to that page even more quickly.

On some searches, Google automatically instructs your browser to start downloading the top search result before you click on it. If you click on top result, the destination page will load faster than before.

Google uses a special prefetching feature in Firefox and Mozilla web browsers to provide this functionality, so results prefetching is not available in Internet Explorer or other web browsers. You can disable prefetching in your web browser preferences, as described in the Mozilla Prefetching FAQ. In Firefox, you can disable prefetching by doing the following:

   1. Type "about:config" the address bar.
   2. Scroll down to the setting "network.prefetch-next" and set the value to "False".

With prefetching enabled, you may end up with cookies and web pages in your web browser's cache from web sites that you did not click on since prefetching happens automatically when you view Google search results pages. You can delete these files by clearing your browser's cache and cookies.

红字部分是如何在about:config里关闭这个功能, 因为你有可能因为这个技术而在浏览器的cache里和cookie里存储其实你并没有浏览的网页（那些TOP搜索结果可能不是你要去的）

所谓的安全隐患就是如果google搜索结果中非法网站或者色情网站排到首位，Fx就会根据google的指示自动地prefetch[预载]链接的页面；而这不是用户自愿的，虽然没有浏览这个页面，然而在浏览器中留下了cookie和缓存的网页。

在有些国家浏览色情网站和非法网站是违法的。但是用户可以手动关闭这个预载的功能 about:config -> network.prefetch-next -> False

PS:好像google只有英文搜索结果中有prefetch，中文搜索还没有加入这个功能。

next 属性的 link 标签也会自动预载吧？

2。完全一样的文章，赛迪和新浪把标题改成“Google搜索在Firefox上加速 埋下安全隐患  ”，猛一看，好像fx又出了什么严重的安全漏洞呢。我对这些猪头表示呕吐disgusting.

Firefox中预装Google搜索结果 引发用户担忧 ”担忧的内容是浏览器cache和cookie里留下自己没有浏览的网站的记录（如果是色情或者非法网站，就比较麻烦，不过1，你可以关闭这个功能，2你可以定期清除，3 google的预载的网页会和一般的网页cache有不同的文件头，因此可以区别，所以个人认为问题不大）。
